NYS Alumni Celebrate Engineering Institute Discharging Class of April 2026

The National Youth Service (NYS) Alumni, led by Patron and Deputy Commandant General Nicholas Makokha, HSC, yesterday joined the NYS Engineering Institute community in celebrating the discharge of the Class of April 2026 in a vibrant and memorable ceremony.

The colorful event brought together alumni members, officers, partners, and the graduating trainees in a show of pride and unity, as the institute honored the students for their dedication, discipline, and exemplary performance throughout their training period. The atmosphere was filled with joy and optimism, marking a significant milestone for the graduates as they transition into professional life.

In his keynote address, the Patron emphasized the importance of integrity, patriotism, and service, urging the graduates to become worthy ambassadors of the National Youth Service. He encouraged them to uphold the core values instilled during their training and to contribute meaningfully to national development.

The NYS Alumni National Executive Committee (NEC) delegation present at the event included Chairman John Githinji, Deputy Chairperson and Head of Corporate Services Omollo Reagan, and Treasurer Eng. Stephen Kurui. The leaders reaffirmed the alumni’s commitment to supporting graduates through mentorship, job linkages, and continuous professional development.

Alumni members also took the opportunity to motivate and inspire the discharging class, sharing real-world experiences and encouraging resilience as the graduates step into a competitive job market.

Special appreciation was extended to the Commanding Officer, Madam Jane K. Kiogora, SACG, for her warm hospitality and for successfully organizing the event.

As the ceremony concluded, the NYS Alumni wished the Class of April 2026 success in their future endeavors, expressing confidence in their ability to make a positive impact in society.
