Position Summary
The NYS Alumni, in partnership with Greenwheels Africa, is recruiting skilled and licensed motorcycle riders to participate in a Ride-to-Own electric mobility programme. The initiative provides 3,000 electric motorcycles to enable members to earn income while progressively owning the asset through structured repayment.
Selected riders will operate electric motorcycles within Nairobi under approved platforms such as Uber Boda, Uber Eats, Uber Delivery, and other licensed logistics and transport services.
This programme combines employment with ownership, allowing participants to generate income while working toward full ownership of the electric motorcycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate electric motorcycles safely within Nairobi and assigned routes
- Provide passenger transport and delivery services via approved platforms
- Ensure punctual, reliable, and high-quality service delivery
- Follow traffic laws, platform rules, and EV safety standards
- Maintain proper care and responsible use of the assigned motorcycle
- Uphold professionalism while representing NYS Alumni and Greenwheels Africa
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a registered NYS Alumni member
- Must hold a valid motorcycle or driving licence
- Must be a skilled and experienced rider/driver
- Must be based in Nairobi
- Must demonstrate discipline, reliability, and financial responsibility
- Must be willing to participate in a structured repayment (ride-to-own) model
- Must be able to work within app-based transport systems
Training & Support Provided
- Free onboarding into the programme
- Electric vehicle (EV) operations training and certification
- Guidance on platform-based work (Uber Boda, Uber Eats, Uber Delivery, etc.)
- Financial literacy and ride-to-own model orientation
- Access to job placement opportunities
- Continuous technical and operational support
Important Note
This is not a free motorcycle giveaway. The programme is a ride-to-own employment model, where participants earn income through daily operations while progressively paying for ownership of the electric motorcycle.
